BMW Race Car Project

2000 BMW 323i

We started with a clean vehicle without any modifications, This vehicle came to us with electrical problems and decided not to pursue a repair.

Engine bay

Interior - Before

Its a shame to remove the interior from a perfectly good car, but weight loss is key

Removing Interior

Interior fully removed

Removed all of the interior, seatbelts, airbags, gutted rear doors and fixed rear windows in position to allow removal of regulators and motors.

Trimmed and lightened Dash

Removed dashboard, trimmed and removed any unnecessary vents, glove box, dash airbags and wiring harness, radio and full audio system harness

Door Panel Fabrication

To eliminate weight from the doors but keep a clean look we removed all of the unnecessary weight and lower panels and replaced with a lightweight ABS panel for a clean look

Transmission Mounts

Condor Speed Shop Solid poly Mounts

Engine Mounts

Solid poly Mounts to eliminate any drivetrain movement

Front Lower Control Arm Bushings

Replaced with an offset bushing to add caster, this improves high speed stability

Suspension

Every nut and bolt was addressed. We removed all components, sandblasted and painted to have a clean and serviceable finished product

Rear Differential

We Changed to a different differential with better gearing for track use

Ring Gear

Preparing to install a limited slip unit

Limited Slip

To improve traction a M-Factory Helical differential was added

Differential cooler

The standard 3 series did not come with a differential that had any cooling, This cover grabs air from under the vehicle to help keep fluid temps low

Rear Subframe

This subframe has been sandblasted, painted and has all new solid bushings installed

Brake Lines

All rubber hoses have been replaced with stainless brake lines. All factory lines have been replaced with copper lines

A full coil over suspension and adjustable rear camber arms installed

Rear suspension

Rebuilt Calipers

Reusing the stock brake system with upgraded parts saved money and kept things in budget. High performance pads were used to improve braking

Extended lug stugs

We changed to an extended stud vs. the standard lug bolt BMW uses. This allows for easier wheel changes and adding or removing wheel spacers with ease
